Study on Inflammation-Inducing Ability of the Extract of the Normal and Necrotic Tissues.

Abstract
The experiment was carried out to ascertain whether there exist inflammatory agents in the normal and necrotized tissues, and, if any, to compare inflammatory activity of normal tissue with that of necrotic tissue. In order to prove these points, the author prepared normal and necrotic specimens of various organs from healthy rabbits, and their supernatant fluid derived from emulsified specimens was diluted with physiological saline solution 4, 8, and 12 times. 0.2 c. c. of the prepared elution was intracutaneously injected into the abdomen of normal healthy rabbits, and 6, 12, and 24 hours later, the injected sites were respectively taken to observe inflammatory reaction and demonstrated in the extracts, and the results were summarized as follows :
1) Extracts obtained from both normal & necrotic tissues are all proved to possess ability to induce inflammation.
2) With regard to inflammation-inducing ability, extract of the necrotic tissue has been shown to be more powerful than that of normal tissue.
3) The inflammatory ability demonstrated in the extract of normal tissue is found to determine that of the same necrotized tissue.
4) Various kinds of tissues used, though histologically different, show no greater difference in inflammatory reaction.
5) Inflammation-inducing ability seems to have no apparent relationship with the morphological and functional characteristics of tissues.
6) In the extracts of normal & necrotic tissues certain active substances are believed to exist which may produce inflammatory reaction.
